Creating an About Us Page (Tip of the Day #0025)

WordPress Tip of the Day #0025

Title: Creating an About Us Page

Creating an about us page is extremely important and practical, it’s somewhere that people go to see who is behind what they are reading, to know if they should keep coming back and just how serious it is.

Often times it’s also what people use to describe you or your company to others, and when people ask you what you or your company does, you can send them to the about page.

A great place to learn what should be included in your about page is a post over at ProBlogger.net called “Add an About Page to Your Blog“.

Another great article about these types of pages is over at Smashing Magazine, it’s more for inspiration as it’s a gallery type post titled “Best Practices For Effective Design Of About me Pages“.

About the website:

WPBeginner is a WordPress resource site which was founded by Syed Balkhi in July 2009. WPBeginner is a subsidiary of Uzzz Productions. The main goal of this site is to provide quality tips, tricks, hacks, and other resources for the WordPress community. Because most other WordPress sites are maintained by developers, there was a lack of focus on beginners. Here at WPBeginner, we try to explain each tutorial thoroughly, so users of all levels can understand it. We provide support for tutorials and tips that we have shared on this site, via email and/or through comments.

We answer any WordPress questions that beginners may have via social media networks, and emails. WPBeginner is a community based site therefore most articles are requested by our users. If you do not find something on our site, use the Suggestion form and write to us. If you are interested in contributing to the community, then we welcome you to write for us.

There is a misconception that WordPress is only for blogs. WordPress is a publishing platform which can function as a robust CMS as well. Another goal of this site is to attract other users to get started with WordPress. If you are not convinced that WordPress is the best solution for you, then you must check out our article: why you should use WordPress.
