WordPress Tip of the Day #0040

Title: Start a Conversation Each Day!

If you give yourself one goal to do each day, I suggest you choose to try and start a conversation with someone new about your website or field each day. It can be via comments on a blog, posts in a forum, on facebook or twitter, even by e-mail or in person.

The thing is that one of the best ways to promote your business or website is through people, and sometimes we overlook that aspect of it and just rely on search engines, or automated posting of links to different social networking websites. Without the conversation part to them, a lot of them will be overlooked and you will miss out.

A link may attract one in every thousand people to be a future client, or to refer you to one, where as a conversation can make that to one in every hundred or less.

Title: Take 5 Minutes for Tomorrow

At the end of each day, I always take a few minutes and sit back somewhere peaceful, weather permiting outside on my patio, and send myself an e-mail with a list of thoughts, tasks, or sometimes even a schedule for the following day.

Since I have started doing this I have noticed that I’m much more productive, as I spend last time contemplating what to do when I get to work the next morning and just start doing it.

It’s also a great time to realize what you have done in that day, and make sure whatever may have been forgotten isn’t the following day.

I use my BlackBerry to send myself an e-mail, but it can be in a notepad, a voicemail or even by fax if it pleases you.

Title: Offer Jobs and Get Paid

There are several different ways to make money online using a blog, one of those ways that also is beneficial to your readers is showing them available jobs or freelance work relating to your topic.

As you can see we have added a job listing for WordPress related jobs on the sidebar on the right.

We partnered with FreeLancer.com to offer these, and in return we get 90% of the project fees that they charge for jobs we refer.

This is a win-win situation for blog owners and readers.
