My name is Leland. I’m a domainer and web developer.

What’s a domainer you ask? There are many definitions. In my case, it’s one who collects domain names for the purpose of future development. You can check out my small domain collection here.

What’s a web developer you ask? It is someone who develops websites. This includes designing, writing, building, optimizing, and creating complete websites. Sometimes I develop websites for “quick flips” and others I keep for the long haul. You can see a small sampling of my websites on the network page. I also blog about them in the my sites category.

I really like WordPress. In fact, pretty much all of my sites (including this one) run on WordPress. What is WordPress you ask? WordPress is a free, open source content management system. Yes, that’s right – a content management system, not just a “blogging platform” as some would like to think.

You may know me from a site called Theme Lab. This is where I blog about WordPress – a lot. It’s developed quite the following with nearly 500 subscribers. I release a lot of free WordPress themes there, usually derived from free templates made by various designers from across the web.

We’ll get the boring stuff out of the way first. I live with my family in sunny Las Vegas, NV USA. Although I’ve lived here most my life, I’m originally from Huntington Beach, California (i.e. Surf City). I love the beach and though I’m not a great surfer, I love to surf. I think by law you have to like surfing if you’re from Huntington Beach.

After graduating high school I went on and spent 6 years at the University of Las Vegas Nevada finally graduating with dual degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics; I know, how fun. I think I took nearly every course offered there being that I took a full load of courses every semester (including summer sessions). My biggest education, however, has been through life experience.

I author the blog for WP Blog Host. In addition to that, I’m in charge of maintaining the company website, our online marketing avenues, and site contact for WordPress and blogging related questions. I’m not a tech support guy, but rather a face put to the company in efforts to stay in touch with everyday bloggers.

Most my days are spent at home in my home office helping our hosting customers with blog related questions, networking online to help promote WP Blog Host, creating video tutorials for the WordPress (and WP Blog Host) community, and of course writing blog articles.
