Creating an about us page is extremely important and practical, it’s somewhere that people go to see who is behind what they are reading, to know if they should keep coming back and just how serious it is.
Often times it’s also what people use to describe you or your company to others, and when people ask you what you or your company does, you can send them to the about page.
A great place to learn what should be included in your about page is a post over at ProBlogger.net called “Add an About Page to Your Blog“.
Another great article about these types of pages is over at Smashing Magazine, it’s more for inspiration as it’s a gallery type post titled “Best Practices For Effective Design Of About me Pages“.
